During a wedding, there’s rarely time to experiment, work through a lighting issue, or ask someone what they would do differently. This day gives you that time.

At Bright Ideas, we’ll walk through reception lighting together, explain the decisions behind each setup, and get you behind the camera to put it into practice. You’ll have room to ask questions, make adjustments, and understand why your results change.

The goal is to leave with a clearer approach, more creative possibilities, and a setup you feel confident bringing into your next wedding.

Your seat includes:

• Practical reception lighting instruction: Learn where to place your lights, balance flash with ambient light, and adapt your setup as the celebration moves.
• Live demonstrations and hands-on practice with a real engaged couple: See the techniques in action, then try them yourself with feedback as you shoot.
• Creative techniques and troubleshooting: Explore backlighting, rim lighting, and handheld lighting while learning how to identify and fix common challenges.
• Individual attention in a group of just 15 photographers: Get answers to your questions and guidance on the areas you want to improve.
• Light appetizers and a light dinner: Spend the day learning and connecting with photographers who share your excitement for the work.
